Complete Your Photo Frame – Explore Our Accessories Range
Every photo frame in our range is built to hold and present your image well, but the right accessories are what take a display from good to genuinely finished. Whether you need an elegant mount, a perspex panel to protect it behind a clear panel, or a backing board to make a freestanding display possible, our accessories range has everything covered.
All three categories are available in all standard sizes and are built to work directly with our full range of picture frames.
Picture Mounts
A picture mount is the board that sits inside your photo frame. It surrounds the image with a clean, measured border before the artwork begins.
This is one of the simplest ways to elevate the presentation of a framed piece. It creates visual separation between the image and the frame, giving the eye a moment to settle before it reaches the artwork itself.
Mounts work particularly well with photography, fine art prints, watercolours, and certificates, where presentation matters. A well-chosen picture mount can make a modest print feel considered and gallery-worthy without any additional effort.
- Purpose: Creates a clean border between the image and the photo frame.
- Best For: Photography, artwork, prints, certificates, and formal displays.
- Sizing: We have picture mounts in all standard sizes, and you can also order a custom mount via email.
- Aperture: The mount aperture is sized to sit over your image precisely. It is equal to the size of your images.
A mount is one of the smallest investments you can make in a display. It creates one of the most noticeable differences it delivers.
Strut Backs For Picture Frames
Not every display belongs on a wall. Strut backs are the component that makes freestanding display possible, a simple, practical backing board with a folding support leg that props your picture frame upright on any flat surface. Desks, shelves, mantlepieces, side tables, and retail display units are all fair game.
They are an especially useful solution for smaller picture frames where wall hanging feels unnecessary, or for displays that need to be moved, repositioned, or updated regularly without any dissension.
Strut backs for photo frames come with the following details:
- Purpose: Enables freestanding display on any flat surface.
- Construction: Backing board with a folding support leg.
- Best For: Desks, shelves, mantlepieces, retail environments, and flexible display setups.
- Sizing: Available in maximum standard sizes, compatible with our full frame range.
For anyone who wants the flexibility to display without committing to a wall, strut backs are a simple and reliable solution that makes it effortless.
Perspex Panels for Picture Frames
Perspex is the clear front panel that sits inside your photo frame. It protects the image behind it. Moreover, it serves the same purpose as glass. Still, with two significant practical advantages, it is considerably lighter and shatter-resistant, making it a safer and more manageable choice for most display situations.
It is particularly well-suited to larger picture frames where glass weight becomes a concern, postal framing where breakage is a genuine risk, and any environment where safety matters.
Perspex panels for picture frames come with the following details:

- Material: Perspex, a lightweight and shatter-resistant plastic panel,
- Best For: Larger photo frames, postal framing, commercial environments, and safety-conscious displays.
- Sizing: Available in all standard sizes and compatible with our full picture frame range.
Clear, lightweight, and built to last, perspex panels are a practical upgrade that protects your display without adding unnecessary weight or risk.
Why the Right Accessories Make All the Difference
A frame without the right accessories is an unfinished product. The difference between a display that looks considered and one that fills a wall often comes down to the details. That is exactly where mounts, perspex panels, and strut backs earn their place.
The picture mount does more than fill the space between an image and a photo frame. It creates visual breathing room and adds a clean, measured border that draws the eye inward and gives the artwork a sense of importance. For photography, fine art prints, and certificates especially, a well-fitted mount transforms the entire character of the display.
Perspex is where practicality and presentation meet. As a lightweight, shatter-resistant alternative to glass, it protects your image without adding unnecessary weight. It is particularly relevant for larger frames, busy environments, or anything being sent through the post.
When it comes to picture frame backing, strut backs add flexibility. Not every display belongs on a wall. A quality strut back means your photo frame works just as well on a desk, shelf, or mantelpiece as it does when hung.
These three accessories complete the framing process properly. Every option in our range is available in all standard sizes. They are built to work directly alongside our full collection of picture frames.
Choosing the Right Accessory for Your Picture Frame
If you are unsure which accessories your frame needs, the answer usually comes down to how and where you plan to display it. Each accessory in our range serves a distinct purpose. Understanding that purpose makes the decision straightforward.
Not every frame needs all three accessories, but knowing when each one applies helps you put together a display that works properly from the start rather than filling gaps afterwards.
- Use a Mount: When displaying photography, fine art prints, watercolours, or certificates, a clean border and added presentation depth will make a visible difference to the finished result.
- Use a Perspex Panel: When you need lightweight, shatter-resistant protection over your image, particularly for larger frames, postal framing, or any environment where glass is impractical or unsafe.
- Use a Strut Back: When the frame needs to stand freely on a desk, shelf, mantelpiece, or retail display surface rather than hang on a wall.
- Use All Three Together: When you want a fully finished, professional framing result that looks and performs exactly as it should.
The right combination depends entirely on your display, but whatever you need, everything is here in one place.
Sized to Fit – Compatibility Across Our Frame Range
Finding the right size accessory is straightforward once you understand how our sizing works. Every mount, perspex panel, and backing board in our range is named after the frame it fits.
In our system, a 12x10" strut back fits a 12x10" picture frame, a 90x70cm perspex panel drops directly into a 90x70cm photo frame, and so on. No guesswork, no complicated measurements.
Mounts work slightly differently and are worth a brief explanation. Two sizes describe a mount. One is the photo frame size it fits, and the other is the aperture it displays. So an A3 mount with an A4 aperture is designed to sit inside an A3 picture frame and present an A4 image.
In mounts, always match the outer mount size to your frame size, and choose the aperture size based on the image you are displaying.
