• Frame Aperture: The opening size that will show your artwork (matches your picture dimensions)
• Overall Frame Size: The total external dimensions including the frame moulding width

Example: If you enter 20×30cm aperture with a 30cm wide frame moulding, the overall size will be approximately 45×55cm.

1. Select "Yes" under Mount Options in our configurator
2. Enter your desired mount aperture width and height (the visible window for your artwork)
3. Choose from our range of mount colors
4. The system will automatically calculate the mount border width

Tip: Your mount aperture should be slightly smaller than your artwork to hold it securely.

Thank you for thinking of us for your framing needs! First of all, it depends on what size of frame you order. Our prices for a bespoke size are higher than our standard sizes due to the offcut wastage.

Yes, we are more than happy to frame your pictures, you can post them directly to us at:Alison Kingsgate LTD, Unit 3, Kingseat Road, Dunfermline, KY12 0UA and upon receipt we will frame them and have them ready to hang before sending it back.

All of our frames are sized to your specifications. If you don't know the size of your picture, simply measure the width and length - these are the exact measurements you should enter as your "Frame Aperture" dimensions in our configurator.

You should allow 1-2 weeks for our skilled framers to make your bespoke frame.

We support three measurement units:

• Millimeters (mm) - Most precise for small items
• Centimeters (cm) - Standard for most picture framing
• Inches - Traditional framing measurements

You can switch units at any time - the system will automatically convert your existing dimensions.

Our current size limits are:

• Maximum dimension: 220cm (48") in either width or height
• Minimum dimension: 8cm (3.14") in either width or height

For exceptionally large pieces, please contact us for special arrangements.

Yes! Our interactive preview shows:

• Accurate frame proportions based on your dimensions
• Your selected frame style and color
• Mount placement and color (if selected)
• Dimension labels showing your specified sizes

The preview updates instantly as you adjust measurements or design options.

Our frames come with a clear Perspex sheet that is safer and more eco-friendly to use. This acrylic sheet is a much more popular option, it's lighter, stronger and has much more clarity than glass.

If your order is lost or stolen, let us know and we will do everything we can to investigate the situation. Of-course we do not want you to be without your order, so we will replace a lost or stolen frame, free of charge.

If the frame arrives and it does not fit, tell us straight away. Our customer service team is dedicated to rectifying any mistakes we have made and if we have sent out the wrong size by accident or if there are any defaults in the frame, we will replace it for you free of charge and not ask you to return the incorrect frame.
